Staying on top of client and team conversations just got a lot easier. We've redesigned the comments experience so you can find what you need, see what matters most, and keep work moving without getting lost in the noise.
What's new:
- A cleaner, more intuitive designmakes finding and recalling conversations easier than ever.
- Smarter searchhelps you surface the right comments faster.
- See what needs you, not everything open- your client list now only flags unread comments so you're not distracted by open threads that don't need your attention. Firms that want to display all open comments can enable this in their Practice Settings.
This will be gradually rolling out to practices over the next few weeks.

Access Client Roles & Properties from the Task List
You can now pull user roles and client properties into your Task List views, giving you all the information needed to triage work without having to jump to the Client List.
This will be gradually rolling out to practices over the next few days.
General Improvements
- AI reconciliation analysis results are now automatically saved as a comment on the account reconciliation task, making it easy for your team to reference later.
- When creating journal entries with AI, Double will automatically populate a journal number.
- New accrual schedules now default to appearing at the top of the Closing section when added, rather than the bottom.

- Fixed a bug where all accounts and checklists were missing from the Account Reconciliation section of a client's close period.

Bulk Edit Due Dates on the Tasks Page
You can now update due dates across multiple tasks at once - no more clicking through tasks one by one to get your list under control.
- Save time on due date cleanup:Bulk select tasks in your Task List and set a new due date for all of them in a single action.
- Clear due dates in bulk:Need to wipe due dates entirely? You can do that too - with an extra confirmation step when recurring schedules are involved, so nothing gets accidentally disrupted.
- Smart guardrails built in:The bulk editor will only show you eligible date options based on the task type and period you've selected.
General Improvements
- Account reconciliation task names now update when the account is renamed in Quickbooks Online.
- The client portal now defaults to the same column view you set when publishing Interactive Financials, so clients always see the month range you chose instead of reverting to 3 months.
- The Quick Add menu is now live on the client list - use it to add a task, jot down a client note, or upload a file - all without leaving your client list dashboard. Bulk creating new closes is still available and can be accessed from the new Add menu.
- Improved the performance and time required to generate a transaction in Double using AI.
- Clients completing a KBA authentication for e-signature can now choose to refresh the set of authentication questions once if they don't appear relevant.

- When using AI to process transactions, the AI model will now read all files in merged set of uploaded files.
- Canadian QBO users can now toggle between tax inclusive and tax exclusive when posting transactions from receipts, with automatic tax amount calculations for each mode.

Refreshed Vendor Request Designs + Performance Improvements
We've given the vendor request flow a fresh new look. Vendors who receive your document requests will now land on a cleaner, more intuitive page that makes uploading or completing a W9 simpler than ever.
On your end, W9s and other vendor documents will load significantly faster thanks to performance improvements under the hood - and look out for a few design upgrades in the 1099s reports as well!
General Improvements
- Added actual days convention to prepaids, fixed assets, and deferred revenue in our Accruals module.
- Include reconciliation details (account name, balance, reconciliation difference) throughout the AI reconciliation analysis flow for easy reference.
- Updated timer rounding logic in Capacity Planning to round the sum of actual timers instead of rounding first and then summing the totals.
- Added helper text to the client portal to let contacts know they need to click submit on files before closing out the window.
- Added question subject in csv export of client questions.
- Updated the pdf viewer to display a consistent width across all files.
- Files attached to deleted tasks will now be saved in a 'Deleted Tasks' auto-organized folder.

Create Task from Inbound Client Question
You can now create or link tasks directly from inbound client questions in your portal, making it easier to delegate, track, and stay accountable for client requests.
- Delegate with ease: Convert any client question into a task and assign it to the right teammate, just like you can with emails.
- Stay organized: Linked tasks display a "Client Q" badge so you always know which tasks originated from a client question — and clicking it takes you straight to the original message.
- Keep full context: Attachments and question details are accessible directly from the linked task, so nothing gets lost in the handoff.

- Added documentation of the AI's reasoning when performing a reconciliation discrepancy analysis.
- Gave users the option to switch between AI models when completing a reconciliation analysis.
- Added support for csv bank transaction uploads for AI reconciliation analysis.

Real-Time Push Notifications in the Client Portal Mobile App
The Client Portal mobile app now supports push notifications, giving clients timely nudges for new messages, outstanding questions, and tax organizers.
- Faster responses, faster closes:Clients are instantly notified of new messages and organizer requests (if enabled), reducing the back-and-forth that slows down your work.
- No notification fatigue:Bulk questions and reminders are batched into a single alert, and clients can toggle notification types on or off directly in the app.
- Simple setup:Notification settings respect your existing reminder digest schedule and portal configuration, so the experience works the way you've already set it up.

General Improvements
- When creating a transaction with AI, or from the Receipts or Quick Add areas, you can now add a new category to your client's chart of accounts.
- When making changes to AI prompts, you can save the changes by updating the existing saved prompt or choose to save it as a new prompt.
- After generating a transaction using AI, you can now click on the "Thought for x seconds" link to see the full AI reasoning, leading to better insights and quicker fixes if the prompt needs an update.
- Tax return projects can now be created for standalone tax years (not just next or previous year)
- Added the option to completely remove accounts from Bank Feeds.

Create Expenses with AI
AI in Double now supports Expenses, giving you even more support for turning complex receipts or other documents into ready-to-post transactions. If you’re already using Double's AI for posting journal entries or bills, you can now apply the same time-saving workflows to expenses for more consistency and fewer manual steps.
- Apply the same AI workflows you already use for Bills and JEs.
- Save prompts once and reuse them across more instances of your repeatable but manually intensive work.
