Allocations by Revenue Share
Allocations can now split an amount across classes or locations automatically, based on each destination's share of revenue — no more working out the percentages in a spreadsheet first.
- A new Revenue share method sits alongside Percentage and Amount, for both transaction- and account-type allocations by class or location.
- Pick the income accounts and a timeframe (rolling month/3/6/12 months, or calendar/fiscal YTD/QTD) and Double computes each destination's share for you.
- For Scale users only
Check out the video below to see it in action or read more in our Help article here.
Loan Receivables
Loan Amortization isn't just for loans owed anymore — you can now set up and amortize loans your clients made.
- Mark a loan as a payable or a receivable at setup; the language adapts across the whole flow.
- Receivables use an interest income account and a loan receivable account instead of interest expense / loan payable.
- For Scale users only
Check out the video below to see it in action or read more in our Help article here.
Private Betas: Faster Load Times & AI Agents
There's still time to join two new private beta tests designed to make your accounting workflows faster and more automated:
- Faster Close Page Load Times: Test our new Close page architecture featuring a simple top toggle to switch between the new, optimized version and standard Close at any time.
- Double AI Agents: Build custom AI agents to automate recurring accounting tasks across selected clients on a schedule or event trigger, handing work off to your team when human review is needed. (Free for beta testers!)
General improvements
- See what a chat costs. Hover a chat title in Ask Double to see the total cost of that session.
- Bundle products & services in AI transactions. AI invoices and sales receipts now handle QBO bundle items correctly, so rate, amount, and class come through on bundle lines.
- Sign e-signature requests without leaving Double. When a signature request — like a tax return — is assigned to you as a Double user, review and sign it right in the product instead of hunting through email.
- Clearer bank-feed setup. Bank feeds now make it obvious when a bank is connected versus when accounts still need mapping — "Connect bank" is separated from adding accounts, empty states are clearer, and the Map accounts button shows how many accounts are mapped.
- Open journal entry drafts in a new tab, so it's easier to review entries in the right client context.
- Import time entries with their workstreams, through Ask Double and the API.
- Transfers in bank feeds now lock class, location, and customer fields, preventing values that wouldn't carry through when posting.
- Clearer error when you open a close with an intercompany reconciliation task but don't have access to all the associated clients.
- Clearer errors when editing an allocation in a closed period.
Bug fixes
- Organizers now refresh right after Ask Double makes a change, so you won't see stale draft/published state.
- Fixed contact search so recipients can be found by name or partial email and duplicate results are removed.
- Fixed the report type picker on the Configure report screen.
- Files you moved (matching to a transaction or out of the Uploads Inbox) no longer appear in Trash as if deleted.
- Bank-feed and accruals imports now show a clean status when they finish instead of a raw internal label.
- Fixed being unable to click "Message client" from the close page.
- Fixed an error when connecting an intercompany account in the reconciliation section.
- Fixed the Executive Summary graph so it labels and compares fiscal years correctly for clients whose fiscal year doesn't follow the calendar year.
- Fixed the totals row misaligning with the Debits and Credits columns in the Sage journal entry modal.
- Fixed transactions with attachments incorrectly appearing in the "Expenses & Bills without Attachments" report.
- Fixed prepaid expense dates showing one day behind in some timezones.
- Fixed re-linking a prepaid installment transaction to an installment contract after it had been unlinked.
- Fixed uploading attachments to Client Info property fields via the Chrome extension.
- Fixed the first sign-in link sent to a client contact sometimes failing and needing a resend.
- Fixed an error that could appear when clicking the home button.
- Fixed published organizers not downloading as PDFs.
- Fixed organizers containing emojis failing to download from Ask Double.
- Fixed dragging a close status option in Practice Settings moving another option along with it.
- Fixed the Accruals action column appearing greyed-out even though it was still clickable.
- Fixed the file-review staging area being unreachable when empty — it now has a deep link and a "no files pending review" message.

New Private Betas: Faster Load Times & AI Agents
We are excited to invite you to join two new private beta tests designed to make your accounting workflows faster and more automated:
Faster Close Page Load Times: Test our new Close page architecture featuring a simple top toggle to switch between the new, optimized version and standard Close at any time.
Double AI Agents: Build custom AI agents to automate recurring accounting tasks across selected clients on a schedule or event trigger, handing work off to your team when human review is needed. (Free for beta testers!)
General improvements
- Create accrued expenses with Ask Double (Scale). Ask Double can now book a full accrued expense through the Accruals feature — account, vendor, amount, recognition start, duration, and reversal method — including multiple at once from a review table.
- Batch your sign-off completion emails. The "Batch related sign-off notifications" setting now also batches completion emails, so a full review no longer sends 20–30 separate messages — you get one rolling email per 30 minutes.
- Skip duplicate transactions on CSV import. When uploading a CSV to an existing bank feed, flip on "Skip duplicate transactions" to drop rows that already exist in that account (matched on date, amount, and description).
- Answers from Ask Double now include deep links — to settings surfaces, tasks, closes, clients, files, organizers, and more — so you can jump directly to the right place.
- Deep links to client question threads. Link directly to a specific transaction or non-transaction question thread.
- Faster, calmer Ask Double notifications. The "response ready" notification now auto-dismisses and won't interrupt you when you're already viewing the thread.
- Attach files to Notes from the MCP / Ask Double. File attachments on Notes are now supported through the Double MCP and Ask Double.
- See how many clients you selected before previewing a template.
- Wider file previews. Excel files in Posted Transactions now open in a full-width preview.
- Skip the extra login. If you're already signed in, visiting the login page now sends you straight to your client list.
- Faster accruals report on clients with large amounts of data.
Bug fixes
- Fixed a generated PDF becoming inaccessible in chat after it was moved.
- Fixed bank-feed reconnect showing the wrong router.
- Fixed bank-feed vendor creation to reuse existing QuickBooks vendors and avoid duplicate-name errors.
- Fixed duplicate MX reconnection banners so users see a single prompt per login.
- Fixed duplicate file-review tasks when reconnecting a previously disconnected QBO client.
- Fixed UI so that team members without access to Accruals no longer see the Accruals tab, even if Accruals feature is active for that client.
- Fixed an issue that allowed non-Tax Suite practices to create tax-only clients hidden from the client list.
- Clearer "not found" errors when an email or attachment no longer exists at the provider, instead of a generic failure.
- Retrying a failed accrual entry now regenerates the entry number, avoiding QuickBooks number collisions.
- Fixed the tracking-categories dropdown formatting for Xero-connected clients.
- "Reply all" now keeps the original CC recipients when replying to an email you sent yourself.
- Fixed an error when adding an attachment from the client portal.

Installment-based Prepaids in Accruals
Accruals now handles multi-payment prepaid contracts, so you can set up a prepaid that's paid in installments instead of a single upfront amount.
- Link each new installment payment to the existing contract instead of spinning up a separate schedule, so one continuous schedule replenishes as payments come in.
- Post a period's amortization even when no payment landed that month, with automatic handling if amortization ever runs ahead of what's been paid.
Read more in our Help article here.
Attach files directly to Notes
Notes now support file attachments, so the document a note refers to lives right alongside it instead of in a separate folder.

Configure it in Practice Settings → Workflows.

Check transactions in Receipts and AI Transactions
Check is now a supported transaction type in AI Transactions. Turn a client's check register straight into checks.
- Turn a photo or scan of a check register into multiple check transactions
- Add a one-off check to the register without the Expense workaround
General Improvements
- Post only part of a receipt. When one receipt produces several transactions, post the ones you're ready for instead of all or nothing — previously a partial post only happened when something failed against QBO.

Connections in Ask Double - now in private beta
Almost everything you need is already in Double. But every so often there's one piece that isn't — a Slack thread, a note in Notion, something in your CRM. Connections let Ask Double reach those tools directly, so you can ask "catch me up on this client before my call" and get an answer that draws on both.
- Three tools to start— Slack, Notion, and HubSpot, with more on the way.
- You decide what it can do.Every connection separates read tools from write tools, so you can let Ask Double look things up on its own while requiring your approval before it sends or changes anything.

You can now create and manage client metrics through Ask Double and the Double MCP/API — no more rebuilding a metrics setup tab by tab.
- Ask Double can create metrics — tabs, variables, and visuals.
- Standardize metrics across your whole book of clients at once, instead of setting them up one client at a time - just say "copy the metrics from client A to all of my other clients," and it flags any conflicts before overwriting.

Create transactions with Ask Double
Ask Double can create transactions for you directly in the chat. You can start from an uploaded document or just describe the transaction in plain language, and Ask Double will extract the details, ask about anything that's missing, and post it once you approve. Available for QBO users on Scale only.
Check out the video below to see it in action or read more in our Help article here.
General Improvements
- AI Flux analysis notes can now be bulk added to your Comments or Footnotes. Learn more in our help article here.
- Posted transactions now show a status card (and a table for batches) in Ask Double, with click-through to the transaction in QBO.
- You can now switch a transaction's type mid-conversation in Ask Double instead of restarting the flow.
- Admins can now add new team members directly through Ask Double.
- Ask Double can now create monthly closes for one or more clients at once via MCP.
- AI Flux Analysis variance explanations are now included in Final Review P&L and Balance Sheet CSV/Excel exports.
- Clicking "Run skill" now inserts the skill into your prompt instead of running it immediately, so you can edit before sending.
- The skill editor now renders Markdown properly, making tables and formatting far easier to read.
- Account Reconciliation and Final Review now open Ask Double directly from their AI buttons.
- Project header chips, client list, and close-page headers received design-system polish (sentence-case labels, consistent menu sizing, cleaner padding).
