📎 Attachment Roll Forward for Closing Tasks
You can now automatically carry forward selected task attachments - like recurring Excel workbooks - into each new close, eliminating the need to re-upload the same files every month.
  • Choose which attachments should roll forward on a per-task basis (all files default to not rolling forward).
  • When a new close is created, files marked to roll forward are copied and attached to the corresponding tasks automatically—even when creating past closes, using the latest close as the source.

General Improvements
  • Improved the usability of footnotes, making it easier and more intuitive to apply footnotes across multiple reports.
  • Added flexibility for close and closing task due dates, allowing you to select due dates outside of just the following month.
  • Added an EFile4Biz export option in the default and custom 1099s reports.
  • Enhanced the performance of the Prepare 1099s report to make certain actions quicker in the vendor table.
  • Released the new 2025 1040 organizer template with conditional logic and collapsible sections.
  • You can now start a timer from a task in the Task list.

General Improvements
  • Improved the usability and output of our AI reconciliation variance tool in Quickbooks Online.
  • Standard and manager users can now view and manage which teammates receive client portal notification digests.

You can now import Quickbooks Online bank feed rules into Double's AI bank feeds, eliminating the need to recreate rules.

✨ Customize Client Report Titles
You can now customize the titles of most reports in Double’s client-facing management reporting package to better reflect your firm’s language and your clients’ expectations. Whether you prefer clearer, simpler labels or more descriptive headings, this update gives you greater control over how your reports are presented - resulting in a more tailored experience for each one of your clients.
To update a report title, open a report, head to
Configure Page

, and enter the title you’d like your clients to see.

  • Client contacts can now add other contacts on their team to "Questions for Us" in the portal, giving them more control over communication and visibility.
  • Added a Notes column to the 1099s reports so you can track information about vendors and W9/1099 filings.

  • Client descriptions in file uploads are now preserved when moving the file to a different folder.

  • For posted accrual journal entries that have fallen out of sync due to edits in the Quickbooks file, we will now highlight issues and allow you to click a link to view the JE in QBO.

Support for Revenue Recognition, Accrued Expenses + AI Bills!
Our automated month-end close features just got more powerful this week with the following major updates:
  • You can now add manage your Deferred Revenue schedules in Double and automatically post revenue recognition entries directly to QBO.
  • Capture accrued expenses and customize reversals to post automatically or to hold until you're ready.
  • Process multi-line, complex vendor bills using AI so all you need to do is prompt, review, and post entries directly to the accounting ledger!
*Accruals and AI Transactions are available for clients on our Scale plan and are currently only available for Quickbooks Online clients. For more information, check out this article.*
Accruals Improvements
  • Added support for deferred revenue / revenue recognition.
  • Added support for accrued expenses.
  • Updated csv export to include column totals and refreshed column labels.
  • Added edit capabilities to accrued expenses if you need to make changes after posting.
Tax Suite Improvements
  • Final tax return pdfs can now be uploaded to the client's tax return page and accessed by client contacts with Tax access in the Tax returns tab of the client portal - cutting down on "can you send me last year's tax return?" questions.
  • Added a Tax permission option for client contacts, which gives contacts access to the Tax return tab, Organizers, and related files.
  • The tax status tracker is now viewable by your clients in the mobile app, if enabled.
  • Existing conditional logic will be duplicated when duplicating slides & sections in Organizers.
Other Improvements
  • You can now edit report titles for client-facing P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement report types.
  • Added a new permission options for client contacts: Client admin, which can view and manage all questions in the portal, including reassigning to different contacts.
  • Released a design refresh to the client list and task list, which now allows you to freely resize columns, pin the leftmost column for easier scrolling, and reorder columns.
    This will be gradually rolling out to practices over the next few weeks.
  • Tax1099 and Track1099 exports have been updated for the 2025 tax season.
  • You can now reorder line items in Receipts transactions and transactions created via the Quick Add menu on the close page.
  • Time-stamped balances are now shown by default on Account Rec tasks when enabled in Practice settings.
  • You can now bulk remove locations from transactions in file review reports (Quickbooks Online only).
  • Close workstreams are now sorted latest to oldest when selecting a timer workstream from the client list.

Group Organizer Slides Into Collapsible Sections
An endless list of questions in tax organizers can be intimidating to clients and hurt completion rates. Now you can group related questions into collapsible sections to make organizers feel more manageable.
Improve completion rates:
Clients see a concise list of sections with progress counts ("3 of 10 complete") instead of an overwhelming list of requests.
Focused responses
: Group related questions like "Personal Information" or "Income" so clients tackle one topic at a time.
Easy setup
: You can drag and drop slides into and out of sections, and duplicate entire sections with nested slides to make building new organizers more efficient.

Account Recs Just Got Faster and Smarter
We've upgraded account reconciliation tasks to save you time on prep, review, and fixing discrepancies.
What this means for you:
  • Work faster with better visibility
    : See reconciled through dates, and compare statement balances to ledger balances directly on the task.
  • Stay in sync
    : Automatically pull reconciliation reports, statement balances, and reconciled through dates from QuickBooks Online via our Chrome extension.
  • Fix reconciliation issues quickly
    : Use AI to analyze reconciliation differences and identify exactly which transactions are causing the discrepancy, speeding up recs that don't perfectly tie on the first try.
