Accruals Improvements
- For posted accrual journal entries that have fallen out of sync due to edits in the Quickbooks file, we will now highlight issues and allow you to click a link to view the JE in QBO.

Support for Revenue Recognition, Accrued Expenses + AI Bills!
Our automated month-end close features just got more powerful this week with the following major updates:
- You can now add manage your Deferred Revenue schedules in Double and automatically post revenue recognition entries directly to QBO.
- Capture accrued expenses and customize reversals to post automatically or to hold until you're ready.
- Process multi-line, complex vendor bills using AI so all you need to do is prompt, review, and post entries directly to the accounting ledger!
*Accruals and AI Transactions are available for clients on our Scale plan and are currently only available for Quickbooks Online clients. For more information, check out this article.*
Accruals Improvements
- Added support for deferred revenue / revenue recognition.
- Added support for accrued expenses.
- Updated csv export to include column totals and refreshed column labels.
- Added edit capabilities to accrued expenses if you need to make changes after posting.
Tax Suite Improvements
- Final tax return pdfs can now be uploaded to the client's tax return page and accessed by client contacts with Tax access in the Tax returns tab of the client portal - cutting down on "can you send me last year's tax return?" questions.
- Added a Tax permission option for client contacts, which gives contacts access to the Tax return tab, Organizers, and related files.
- The tax status tracker is now viewable by your clients in the mobile app, if enabled.
- Existing conditional logic will be duplicated when duplicating slides & sections in Organizers.
Other Improvements
- You can now edit report titles for client-facing P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement report types.
- Added a new permission options for client contacts: Client admin, which can view and manage all questions in the portal, including reassigning to different contacts.
- Released a design refresh to the client list and task list, which now allows you to freely resize columns, pin the leftmost column for easier scrolling, and reorder columns. This will be gradually rolling out to practices over the next few weeks.
- Tax1099 and Track1099 exports have been updated for the 2025 tax season.
- You can now reorder line items in Receipts transactions and transactions created via the Quick Add menu on the close page.
- Time-stamped balances are now shown by default on Account Rec tasks when enabled in Practice settings.
- You can now bulk remove locations from transactions in file review reports (Quickbooks Online only).
- Close workstreams are now sorted latest to oldest when selecting a timer workstream from the client list.

- Added "Entity Type" for vendors to the Prepare 1099s and Custom 1099 reports.
- Updated the 1099 threshold to $2,000 for 2026 for 1099-NEC by default in the Prepare 1099s report.
- Added "Account Type" and "Detail Type" to Newly Added Accounts report.
- When accrual journal entries are edited in QBO manually after being posted through Double's Accruals, Double will now detect mismatches and display which entries are out of sync.

Group Organizer Slides Into Collapsible Sections

Account Recs Just Got Faster and Smarter
We've upgraded account reconciliation tasks to save you time on prep, review, and fixing discrepancies.
What this means for you:
- Work faster with better visibility: See reconciled through dates, and compare statement balances to ledger balances directly on the task.
- Stay in sync: Automatically pull reconciliation reports, statement balances, and reconciled through dates from QuickBooks Online via our Chrome extension.
- Fix reconciliation issues quickly: Use AI to analyze reconciliation differences and identify exactly which transactions are causing the discrepancy, speeding up recs that don't perfectly tie on the first try.

Task views and manual statement data updates are available for all client types. Chrome extension upgrades are available for Quickbooks Online clients.

Assign Multiple Client Contacts to Questions
You can now assign questions to multiple client contacts at once, making it easier to collaborate and get answers from the right people. Whether you're asking about transactions, receipts, or sending statement and document requests, simply select all the relevant contacts who should see and respond to each question.
Clients can also reassign questions among their team members directly from the portal, cutting down on back and forth and speeding up response times.
Note: This feature requires assignable questions to be enabled for the client.

Managing accruals in Double just got even faster. With accrual presets, you can now standardize how your firm handles asset depreciation and amortization - reducing repetitive work and ensuring everyone on your team follows the same approach.

New staff can immediately follow your firm's best practices without needing to memorize configuration rules.Define reusable asset type presets in client settings (type, duration, depreciation method, expense account, etc.). When creating a new accrual, select your preset from a dropdown to auto-fill all fields - or adjust values as needed for special cases.
Find the new Settings button in any client's Accruals tab to get started.

- Organizers can now be moved to an archived state, allowing you to move completed organizers out of your active queue and keeping your client list focused and action-oriented.

New Quick Add Menu for Faster Navigation
We've introduced a handy new Quick Add button at the top of the Close page to give you instant access to your most common client-related tools and transactions. Just click "Add" to reveal a curated set of actions:
- Quickly log an internal task, upload a file, or jot down a client note.
- Rapidly record any type of transactions like journal entries, expenses, bills, or invoices in Quickbooks.
Watch for additional Quick Add options as we further streamline Keeper's navigation and usability.
Note: Quick add transactions are currently only available for posting to Quickbooks.

- Made improvements and added details to prepaids and fixed assets schedules for simpler month-end tie-outs.
