The task view is overwhelming when there are descriptions, even if you shorten. I would love an option on the task view to hide descriptions completely.

You can now control how task descriptions appear in your "Workflow" settings.

Practice management -> Workflow -> Global settings -> Task descriptions. Options are:

Standard (truncates after 7 lines)
Short (truncates after 1 line)
Off (shows in expanded view only).
