I wanted to share a recurring workflow that currently requires a significant amount of manual effort and would make a great candidate for automation.
Current Workflow
Each month, I receive a ZIP file from ADP containing approximately 48 individual PDF payroll reports, with one report per client.
At the moment, I have to:
1. Extract the ZIP file.
2. Open each client record individually in Double.
3. Upload the corresponding PDF to that client's Uploads Inbox.
This results in roughly 48 manual uploads every month, despite the files already being organized and identifiable by client.
Feature Request
Ideally, Double could support one of the following solutions:
Option 1: ADP Reports as a Firm Task
Allow ADP payroll reports to be uploaded as attachments to a Firm Task and automatically routed to the appropriate clients' Uploads Inboxes based on a filename-to-client mapping.
A one-click "Distribute Reports" action would also work, where Double identifies the client from the filename and routes each document accordingly.
Option 2: Email-Driven AI Distribution
Enable an AI-powered workflow that:
1. Monitors or imports ADP report emails and attachments.
2. Extracts the PDF files from the ZIP attachment.
3. Identifies the appropriate client based on predefined filename-to-client mappings.
4. Automatically routes each document to the correct client's Uploads Inbox.
This would eliminate approximately 48 manual uploads per month for our firm alone, and I suspect many accounting and payroll-focused firms managing bulk-report workflows from ADP or similar providers would benefit from the same functionality.
