Please add a separate field for State Business ID / State Tax ID / BIN in the “Payer Info” section of Prepare 1099s.

We all LOVE the Prepare 1099s feature in Double. Seriously, amazing work on this. The workflow and export functionality have already saved me a ton of time during 1099 season.

One gap I recently ran into involves state compliance identifiers.

Right now, Double only supports the federal EIN/TIN in the Payer Info section. That works great federally, but many states also use a separate state identification number for matching 1099 filings.

For example here in Oregon:

Federal filing uses the FEIN

Oregon uses a separate BIN (Business Identification Number)

I recently discovered this after filing through Tax1099. The export from Double worked beautifully, but there was no place to store/export the Oregon BIN, which can create issues matching state filings to the proper state account.

Suggested improvements:

Add optional “State ID / BIN” field(s) inside Payer Info

Include state selection if needed

Allow this information to export into supported 1099 filing platforms like Tax1099

Potentially support multiple state IDs for multi-state businesses

This would make Double’s 1099 workflow even more complete and accountant/bookkeeper-friendly for real-world state compliance workflows.

Again, huge appreciation to the Double team. The 1099 prep/export tools are already excellent. This would just close an important gap for state filing workflows.
