Add Color to the Comments Icon Numbers so it STANDS OUT that there is a comment.

The tiny numbers inside the tiny icons are washed out in all the white background. It doesn't grab your attention that someone has posted a comment and is easily overlooked.

I totally agree - it's very easy to miss comments and having them in another color would be really helpful!
