Be able to email vendors directly from Keeper asking for a W9. THIS IS HUGE. I find that for about every 40 W9 requests i send out saying (Hi, we're the bookkeepers for XYZ....) one of those vendors ends up scheduling a consult with me to inquire about our services. To be able to send out the emails quickly with a professional format would be huge as it is essentially free marketing for our firms.

This is a game changer feature. We are creating a process where our Tech | Client Services person can review the whole company W9 | Vendor process, send the emails to vendors and upload the date right to QBO. We really need the email function within the software to make this a seamless process. I do believe marketing this benefit will continue to show the benefits of your product. For me as the owner of this outsourced firm I feel much more at ease and well informed about the information that is needed well before the end of the year crunch. (happy to beta test as needed) .Michelle

For 1099s, I often offer to request the W9's from vendors on my clients behalf (free advertising for my firm!). But obviously email isn't secure, and i'd love to give the vendor the option to upload their sensitive info. I'm obviously not going to create a keeper instance for that one vendor to have a portal to load to.
Is it possible to have a secure portal that is generic for our firm that we can allow non-clients to upload documents to.
If we could share client financials out of it as well (for banks and other stakeholders), it would be super helpful.

Tyler Otto - I think this is a great idea and is mostly what we have in mind for the other 1099 email function you requested. Do these differ?

Ben Stein: Great clarifying question. Either or both would work. The specific functionality is negotiable, but the ideal problem to solve is collecting documents from non clients. The email feature would definitely help us collect (and most vendors wouldn't mind sending them over email, so that would get the job 99.9% done). The secure portal would go further than just 1099 collection if needed, but i can't think of many use cases that people would use it.
Might not be that big of a scratch to itch.

Also, bonus points if when a vendor replies with the attachment, it automatically feeds back in to that keeper request.
