Free Scale Week has ended
In case you missed it, from October 1-7, Scale features were available to all Core and Plus users in Double. If you didn't get a chance to test things out, flip on your two week free trial of Scale for a client from the practice settings page.
Already like what you see, and want to roll things out more broadly? Talk to us about how we can support!
Custom Fields in Invoices
Invoices created in Double can now carry your QBO custom fields — Job Name, PO Number, or whatever your client's QuickBooks file defines. Fill them in when you build the invoice from Client Uploads, Quick add, or Ask Double.
  • Custom fields appear automatically based on the client's QBO configuration.
  • Works with AI Transactions and Ask Double.
  • For QBO users only.
Check out the video below to see it in action:
General improvements
  • Split or copy files in Ask Double.
Ask Double can now split a PDF by page range or into one file per page, and copy any file without changing the original — so when a merged PDF covers several QuickBooks transactions, each one gets its own supporting document. Works with files from the File Library or Uploads Inbox once they're loaded into chat.
  • Year-over-year comparisons on the Executive Summary.
Monthly and quarterly summaries now compare against the same period last year (July vs. last July, Q3 vs. last Q3) rather than the immediately prior period.
  • Bulk move files from client questions.
Select multiple attachments on a non-transaction question and move them to a folder in one step.
  • Pick templates when connecting a client.
Connecting an unconnected client now lets you choose which close (and tax) templates to apply — or none — instead of defaulting to the practice template.
  • Time Tracking and Analytics for corporate practices
. Corporate Close practices can now turn these on in Practice settings → Workflows → Global settings.
  • Client-list task counts update live when Ask Double, the Double MCP, or an agent creates or completes a task.
  • Skill chips are now preserved when copying messages in Ask Double.
  • Ask Double now refers to non-closing tasks as custom tasks, matching the rest of Double.
Bug fixes
  • Revenue share allocations now include sub-accounts when a parent income account is selected.
  • Restored the missing legend bar on printed metrics graphs.
  • Importing a fully depreciated asset through Ask Double now updates the existing asset instead of creating a duplicate, so the depreciation schedule balances.
  • AI Invoices once again carry rate, amount, and class on QuickBooks bundle lines.
  • Fixed an issue where custom file review reports built in the new Close experience broke when switching back to the previous Close.
  • Restored the "try account or split" flag on account-only custom file review reports.
  • Fixed a crash that could interrupt QuickBooks attachment syncing when attachment metadata was missing.
  • Fixed tab-completing a contact in the Inbox composer's To field filling in the email address instead of the contact's name.
  • Fixed balances not importing into Accruals schedules properly.
  • Fixed vendors not showing in the Accruals table.
  • Fixed the entity type updated in the Prepare 1099s table not showing in vendor details.
  • Fixed the "Upload report to task" button not showing for reconciliation reports in the Chrome extension.
  • Fixed the Chrome extension showing the "Client info" button three times.
  • Fixed Ask Double listing a hidden transaction as eligible when creating accruals.
  • Fixed Ask Double generating blank workpapers.
  • Fixed file search not working in spreadsheet previews.
  • Fixed several failures when running learned skills in Ask Double.
  • Fixed transaction questions marked as ready not displaying.
  • Fixed a missing Connectors tab in Ask Double.
  • Fixed the "Expenses & Bills Without Attachments" reports showing transactions that already had attachments for Xero clients, in both the current and new Close experience.
