Support for Revenue Recognition, Accrued Expenses + AI Bills!
Our automated month-end close features just got more powerful this week with the following major updates:
  • You can now add manage your Deferred Revenue schedules in Double and automatically post revenue recognition entries directly to QBO.
  • Capture accrued expenses and customize reversals to post automatically or to hold until you're ready.
  • Process multi-line, complex vendor bills using AI so all you need to do is prompt, review, and post entries directly to the accounting ledger!
*Accruals and AI Transactions are available for clients on our Scale plan and are currently only available for Quickbooks Online clients. For more information, check out this article.*
Accruals Improvements
  • Added support for deferred revenue / revenue recognition.
  • Added support for accrued expenses.
  • Updated csv export to include column totals and refreshed column labels.
  • Added edit capabilities to accrued expenses if you need to make changes after posting.
Tax Suite Improvements
  • Final tax return pdfs can now be uploaded to the client's tax return page and accessed by client contacts with Tax access in the Tax returns tab of the client portal - cutting down on "can you send me last year's tax return?" questions.
  • Added a Tax permission option for client contacts, which gives contacts access to the Tax return tab, Organizers, and related files.
  • The tax status tracker is now viewable by your clients in the mobile app, if enabled.
  • Existing conditional logic will be duplicated when duplicating slides & sections in Organizers.
Other Improvements
  • You can now edit report titles for client-facing P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement report types.
  • Added a new permission options for client contacts: Client admin, which can view and manage all questions in the portal, including reassigning to different contacts.
  • Released a design refresh to the client list and task list, which now allows you to freely resize columns, pin the leftmost column for easier scrolling, and reorder columns.
    This will be gradually rolling out to practices over the next few weeks.
  • Tax1099 and Track1099 exports have been updated for the 2025 tax season.
  • You can now reorder line items in Receipts transactions and transactions created via the Quick Add menu on the close page.
  • Time-stamped balances are now shown by default on Account Rec tasks when enabled in Practice settings.
  • You can now bulk remove locations from transactions in file review reports (Quickbooks Online only).
  • Close workstreams are now sorted latest to oldest when selecting a timer workstream from the client list.

  • Fixed a bug where note template titles failed to populate.
  • Fixed a bug where refreshing bank feed accounts did not pull in new transaction data.
  • Fixed a bug where archiving a tax client did not automatically complete their associated tasks.
  • Fixed a bug where publishing financials triggered an “Error printing report” message.
  • Fixed a bug preventing some users from asking questions from the Uncategorized Expense report.
  • Fixed a bug where auto-save for notes froze.
  • Fixed a bug where file uploads to custom tasks failed.
  • Fixed a bug where searching client comments (/search-client-comments) timed out.
